Jeffa, Israel
Jaffa was an ancient city and Arab center and port within the Tel Aviv region. I took a 2-hr free walking tour, then walked on my own for 5 hrs to cover other highlights.
We walked via the Zodiac alleys — a network of restored alleys, full with art galleries, which lead to the Jaffa seaport, the summit park with a panoramic view of the port, St. Peter's Catholic Church (close today yet Napoleon stayed in that church while it was a hostel), a boutique hotel used to be a prison for Adolf Eichmann, etc. The guide also shared biblical tale of Jonah and the Whale, and Andromeda’s Rock from Greek mythology.
I checked out the Flea Market and Bazaar, walked further south to another beach front park and took a nice nap in the shade. After the rest, I strolled along beaches after beaches then turned right towards Rabin Square (biggest public square in Israel and located by the footsteps of the city hall yet close for building subway), and then the last stop Tel Aviv Bauhaus Heritage: Architect Lucian Korngold.
