Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust museum
I took light rail to Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust museum. The 45-acre complex contains Holocaust research facilities, memorials and museums. I ran into a schooler who also stayed in Washington DC for three years and now visiting Yad Vashem. Among the latter, there are the Holocaust History Museum, memorial sites such as the Children's Memorial and the Hall of Remembrance, the Museum of Holocaust Art, sculptures, outdoor commemorative sites such as the Valley of the Communities, as well as a synagogue.
I took a light lunch then started touring the facilities. There are many different galleries depict the events of the Holocaust via artifacts, personal documents, survivors’ testimonies, films, diaries, and works of art, with an emphasis on the individual story. I took a nap during one of the presentations whose strong AC caused my running nose. Hope I will get over with the cold soon.
