Chobe National Park, Botswana
Day 23 - Kasane – Chobe National Park
I skipped the optional game drive in Chobe National Park, and slept in. I am game-drive out, especially after seeing most animals in other parks. Unfortunately, black and white rhinos were relocated outside of Chobe National Park for preservation.
In the morning, I tried the instant noodles bought in Zambia for the local flavor, but was disappointed. After the morning game drive group back, we had a brunch and a quick siesta before we headed out for the afternoon to explore the Chobe National Park from the river.
We enjoyed a leisurely boat cruise which got us up close to many animals (elephants, hippos, crocodiles, birds, etc.) coming out of hiding to the river to drink and feed after the heat of the day has gone, including elephants that frequent the river in the afternoons, and some swimming across the river. We also saw the Botswana wildlife at sunset over the park in vivid colors. We had great grilled chicken paired with hot sauce for dinner.
