Etosha National Park I

Day 28 – Etosha National Park

We had a very hearty breakfast at the game lodge restaurant, then headed to Windhoek center for a 1.5-hr city walking tour about the history and landmarks. While we were waiting for the truck to come back from the supermarket, we went into the church to hear the church’s history and the Germany perspective of the Namibian Independence war from the presit.

The temperature rages from 35f in early morning to 80f in the mid day, so I have to put on then peel off clothing via the day and then put back on in the late afternoon. I plan to insert the lower part of my sleeping bag into a big black trash bag tonight to (1) contain heat, and (2) waterproof the sleeping bag from the condensation from my breath on the tent wall. Hope this wisdom from the homeless will help my sleep in the tent via the cold winter night.

We then headed towards Etosha National Park, to reach the gates of Etosha National Park in the late afternoon. We saw a lot of animals as we entered the park and traveled to our overnight rest camp for the night. I visited the water hole near the camp and saw a rhino in the dark.
